Alliance with Brain Group (Brain Corp., Sanshusha Publishing, etc.)
Tokyo, July 5, 2006 - Impress Holdings, Inc. (TSE: 9479), announced today that it has entered into a capital tie-up with Brain Corporation, which operates a comprehensive media production business (publishing, video and Internet). Moving forward, we will also begin to consider specific areas of cooperation in operations with Sanshusha Publishing, the Brain Groupfs language-related publishing company, and other Brain Group companies.
1. Objective of Tie-Up
The Impress Group is using digital packaging to actively promote a cross-media approach for the distribution of its highly specialized content and know-how to a variety of channels.
Sanshusha Publishing is an established publishing company, with an impressive history dating back almost 70 years to its establishment in 1938. The company publishes university-level textbooks, dictionaries and testing materials for languages including German, English, French and Chinese. We are jointly exploring a variety of cross-media possibilities that would combine Sanshushafs superior specialized content and experience related to languages, testing and non-Japanese cultures, with the digital packaging done by the Impress Groupfs media business.
